Description

I have a large, second-floor room with bay windows available for rent in a house near the intersection of Gerrard Street East & Greenwood Avenue in Leslieville, Toronto.

Your rent is $ per month with utilities included. The internet bill is $ every month so you would pay half of that, which works out to $ per month.

The room is located on the second floor of a house on a quiet, treelined, residential street, steps away from the streetcar and Greenwood Park, and a short distance from Food Basics at Gerrard Square and No Frills at Coxwell & Gerrard. The house is kind of old and a bit run down, but it’s a safe, comfortable, quiet place to live.

The second floor is like it’s own apartment: it has a washroom, a dining room, a kitchen, and two bedrooms, one of which is my bedroom. The walls are very thick so there’s virtually no noise issues between the two rooms, and the house is very quiet.

Besides me, there are only two other people living in the house: the landlord and his adult son live on the main floor. They are very respectful of space and never come upstairs, so you don’t have to worry about that. The landlord is a kind and friendly year old Chinese man who does not speak any English. His son is blind, so that’s something to be considerate of.

It’s not a social house - everyone just goes to their respective spaces and keeps to themselves.

An important thing to understand before moving in is that I am the primary tenant here who writes and signs the rent cheques to the landlord so you would be entering into what’s called a “roommate agreement” with me, not a “sub-tenancy”. That means that you would be rent to me every month, not the landlord.
