Seeking a Roommate

If you're looking for a safe, quiet setting with friendly neighbors and animal companions, then this is the place for you. My home is just a couple of minutes from downtown Newport, about minutes from Morehead City, & about from local beaches. You'll have a spacious bedroom, full bathroom (shower only), living area that you're welcome to customize with your own furniture, & access to a kitchen & dining area that seats , which we'll share. There is another living area with entertainment center, shared with me, but you're welcome to put your own TV in the other living area, too. Floors on your side are carpeted and your room has blackout curtains & walk-in closet (pictured with items that will be moved!). The home sits on a half-acre with large yards, a covered porch with swing, & two storage sheds. There is plenty of room in the bigger one for whatever you need to store. There are lots of trees & blooming plants, including a successful fig tree. If you like to garden, have at it! All I ask is that you don't plant anything poisonous to animals. :) I also have a small fire pit. I currently have a mid-size dog (Penelope), a dove (Olive), & one very loyal hen (Evie). Olive lives in my room & Evie outside, so you'll only interact with Penelope mostly. She's friendly but I do have a baby gate to separate halves of the house. I am open to your pets but no cats (allergies), or spiders (phobia). Anything else is negotiable! Since it's rural, you'll see various wildlife--bees, snakes, rabbits, squirrels, frogs, lizards, birds, rodents, opossums, etc. I'm of the "live and let live" mindset, as much as I can be, and issues with wildlife are rare. My home does need some minor repairs--I've been here almost years--but nothing is detrimental or will really affect you. The kitchen, bathroom, & laundry appliances work well, the HVAC is still running strong, and the well gives plenty of water. The place is always a work in progress, though!
